ALONE << Back to the Poem List

Alone in this world. I might as well be on some deserted island.
Alone in this world. Feeling so utterly forgotten.
It's funny how these perceptions of me can change.
Pushed aside. Another time. Sent away.

All my fault. I could have been a better friend.
I never was here, I was always too busy to stay.
I never called or picked up that lousy pen.
I lost touch. You moved on. No more friends.

There's a part of me that's angry at myself.
How could I have done that to someone else?
Life moves us on at a dizzying pace.
Can't slow down, gotta move on. I might lose my place.

The one friend I can't lose touch with is you.
Without you, I don't know what I'd do.
For then, I'd truly be alone.
Cast aside, my every hope would be gone.
